I remember intentionally overexposing this when I shot it. . . I wanted to isolate the bamboo stalks from the background. In the "darkroom" later, I took the effect even further.

Its a tossup whether it is the glasses or the lock of hair that really make this work. This was shot inside a Confucian temple in Taipei. I was pretending to take pictures of the architecture and waiting for a good candid opportunity.

The most photogenic sites in Taiwan, for my money, are the Confucian temples. I'm not exactly sure why, but I definitely took more pictures in the two Confucian temples I visited than anywhere else.

I've been experimenting with mirrors a little bit recently. This convex one allowed me to capture almost all of this enormous banyan tree, albeit with a little (artistic?) distortion.
