Petals (September 9, 2006)
berkeley, color, flower, petals, rose
The configuration of the petals, both tight shut and spread, caught my eye.
8
Boot prints (September 9, 2006)
boot, color, decay, door, ironworks, madison, print
I was surprised how colorful a rusty door could be.
10
Calm (September 9, 2006)
calm, color, lake, madison
Rarely is the lake this calm. I probably shouldn't have shot this with the horizon dead center but it does accentuate the sky reflection in the water.
13
Door (September 9, 2006)
color, decay, door, ironworks, madison
You are looking all the way through the building to the sun illuminated window on the other side.
15
Butterfly Amaryllis II (September 9, 2006)
amaryllis, butterfly, color, flower, madison, profile
The color version of the photo I use as a background for Dodge & Burn. That red makes my eyes hurt after a while.
16
Ice (September 9, 2006)
color, ice, lake, madison
A fissue in the lake ice. Every winter as the temperature fluctuates, we get these miniature simulations of tectonic plate activity.
18
Monumental Landscape (September 9, 2006)
color, decay, ironworks, landscape, madison, monumental
I took an art history course where we studied Chinese "Monumental Landscape" paintings. I was pretty surprised to find patterns that resembled one of these paintings in the rust patterns on an old metal door.
19
Merry and Red (September 9, 2006)
color, madison, merrygoround, red
The merry-go-round at the House on the Rock. I'm pretty sure I boosted the reds in this picture.
22
Paisley (September 9, 2006)
capitol, color, madison, paisley
Who knew the ceiling of the Wisconsin state capitol could remind one of paisley?
23
Window (September 9, 2006)
color, curtain, ledge, madison, window
I'm not really sure why this picture looks so interesting to me. I think it has to do with the repetitions of curtains and ledges.
